Professional Musician Acknowledgment

Professional applicants should review and accept these expectations before continuing to the musician application form.

I Professional Musician Acknowledgment and Expectations By accepting compensation at the Professional Musician rate with the Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra, I acknowledge that I am expected to perform at the standard of a professional musician. This standard includes: Arriving at rehearsals fully prepared and having thoroughly reviewed and practiced all assigned music prior to the first rehearsal. Being capable of performing my part accurately and confidently without requiring significant rehearsal time for individual preparation. Assisting fellow section members, when appropriate, before rehearsals, during rehearsals, and prior to performances to help ensure overall section readiness and musical success. Demonstrating professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to the artistic goals of the orchestra. Musicians serving as Principal Chair are additionally encouraged to provide leadership within their section. While not required, Principals are strongly encouraged to: Review all parts within their section prior to rehearsals. Identify challenging passages, technical concerns, bowings, articulations, rhythms, or other items that may require attention. Communicate with section members before rehearsals when appropriate to offer guidance, answer questions, and help ensure that all musicians arrive as prepared as possible. Serve as a resource and mentor for section members throughout the rehearsal and performance process. The purpose of these expectations is to foster a professional, collaborative, and musically rewarding environment for all members of the Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra.
